LindaLinda is leaving her estate to the hospital to help cancer and neurological patients

When it came to estate planning, it was an easy decision for Linda Burns to make Bon Secours her beneficiary.

Linda is a breast cancer survivor and was overwhelmed by the diagnosis three years ago. As a widow with no family nearby, she came to count on the volunteers of the Women of St. Francis for help. 

“I felt so lucky be connected with the hospital,” she said. “Since I don’t have children, it became very clear to me that the best thing I could do was leave my estate to Bon Secours. Half of it will go to the breast center and because my husband died from ALS, the other half will go to a new neurological center.”

Linda has also become one of the Women of St. Francis.

“It makes you feel good to be able to help a woman who has just been diagnosed like I was,” she said. “I find it so rewarding and it has given me a sense of purpose.”
